This video of Japanese recreating We Are the World is funny (the Japanese Cyndi Lauper is quite good)... until you see the original. I was surprised at how moving it was after all these years.

Big D -- I may have to incorporate this video into my recent posts about Darfur and the Congo. This song was recorded in 1985 -- how far have we really come in 23 years? I'm not sure I know the answer to that and I'm sure a lot depends on from whose perspective you're viewing the question. At minimum, thanks for bringing back a flood of memories. Do you mind if I co-op this for a future post?
