This Walmart commercial from 1981 shows breakthrough cassette to cassette copying technology :-)
The cost of $169 (equal to about $375 today), buys a lot more at Walmart these days: a 20 inch TV with built-in dvd player ($148), an mp3 player ($99), and a 5 cd mini stereo ($129).

I am always amazed by the rapid tech/electronic changes we witnessed.
--Atari 2600 to PS3/X-Box360;
--rotary dial phones to cellular phones
--non-remote tv's to plasma/LCD tvs
--the tale end of 8 track/vinyl records to CDs to MP3s/digital music
--VHS/Beta to DVDs
--bulky camcorders to digital recorders
--film cameras to digital cameras
--no internet to internet
and more. it has been incredible. I still remember the day Big-D was explaining to me the whole email with attachments thing. I was just amazed by the ability to send files any where in the world instantly!
