So much has been written about the upcoming election that I'll keep it simple: during the last six years, Republicans have controlled every aspect of our national government; our foreign and domestic policies. If you're happy with the job they've done, if you believe their vision is the correct one for America, vote for them. If not, vote Democratic.

done and done.
I have to confess, I had to vote for one Republican candidate (Cook County President). Prior to the democratic primaries, John Stroger ran against Claypool to become the democratic candidate for county president. Stroger ran while he was in the hospital after suffering a severe stroke. it did not seem like he would be able to ever serve in politics but the dems left him in the ballot. even while being in the hospital stroger won. after the primary it was announced that stroger would not run. instead of claypool taking the lead, the democratic party penciled in Stroger's son, Todd Stroger, in place of his father. This was a blatant abuse of the process. it sickened me and many other democrats. claypool got robbed. Todd Stroger has some political experience but the man should not be hand picked over the wishes of the voters. he should have run in the primaries like claypool. for this reason alone, i voted against stroger, a democrat. had he placed second in the primary behind his father, i would have voted for him.
this is the type of shit that happens in Chicago and Illinois. we have a history of political corruption that is outright offensive. stroger won and voters lost.
