
Sure, we've long since left analog technologies in the dust, but still, the
VCR was a big deal in the history of consumer electronics. It had huge implications for how movies are distributed, led to changes in copyright law, and gave consumers tremendous power over how and when to consume media. I purchased my last VCR in 1998 right before I purchased my first DVD player. I'd say it's been used 10 times since then.
