KFC plans to follow in the footsteps of Wendy's (and ahead of potential legislation in NYC), by dropping partially hydrogonated oils - "trans fats" - from its menu. Hydrogonated oils are among the worst things you can put into your body. Read more here. I can't wait for the change, I'm gonna eat KFC everyday. I mean, without trans fats, it's good for you isn't it?

I saw a 20/20 special or some other news program where they interviewed folks suing McDonald's for making them fat. it was amazing to see how people really rationalize their health problems on McDonalds...like McDonalds had laced their burgers with addictive chemicals or McDonalds held a gun to their heads.
I understand the suit against McDonalds for not disclosing the use of animal fat on french fries. but McDonalds does not hide the nutrional value of its products. Are people really unaware that eating McDonalds too often can be bad for you? fuck that. that's bullshit. this is one of the few moments when i don't side with the class action lawyers (i sided with them on hand gun litigation and cigarette litigation).
its all about blaming someone else to get money. If i were the judge i would kick such suits out and sanction counselors for bringing them. how the hell do you hold someone accountable for shit you consume on your own?
I'd support class action lawsuits if the victims actually got most of the compensation, but the way our system is set up, lawyers make millions off cases where the economic reward to the "victims" is negligble. Case in point, I've gotten checks for class action settlments for computer ram, blockbuster, insurance, totaling a few bucks. Consumers didn't benefit from these suits, the lawyers who made tens of millions did. Think about the hundreds of millions of dollars tobbacco lawyers got. The Erin Brockovich type cases where claimants get compensated for deaths are rare, most of the action is in wall street related litigation and products liability and most of the time "victims" get pennies.
yeah I am certaintly not in favor of class action litigation where the reward goes to the attorneys and "coupons", store discounts etc go to the class members. that's bullshit in my book.
