New Job/Light Bloggin' - Again

Yep, on a new gig, will be a little light on blogging for the next few days. Some quick thoughts about what's going on out there:
  • Kofi Annan says Isreal intentionally targeted a UN facility in Lebanon (killing 4 UN observers). Strong words, not the kind an experienced diplomat would throw out lightly. What's the back story? Why is Kofi willing to take the heat for such a statement?
  • Another American wins the Tour de France. Doesn't seem as big a deal but it should be. Where's the love for Floyd Landis. Does a brother have to lose a nut for people to start caring?
  • Why does the media pretend that Guiliani has a chance to the be the republican candidate in 2008? Besides the fact that the republican base will reject him, can you imagine the skeletons that will be unearthed? Bernie Kerik was probably one of his honest friends.
  • The entreprenurial side of me (usually deeply buried but awakening lately) sees the obesity epidemic in America as a potential goldmine. Can you imagine the demand for folding beach chairs that can support up to 500 pounds? Bagels the size of a plates? Toilet seats that can accomodate the width of two normal-sized asses? It's gonna be huge! Ok people, how are we going to make money off this?
  • Pakistan is increasing it's nuclear arms prodcution capacity. Thank White Jesus they are not a part of the axis of evil.
  • Robot Chicken is my favorite new show. Each episode is only 15 minutes long, perfect for someone with ADHD like me. Also caught an episode of Munchies the other day. Yeah, exactly.

I like this kind of post Big D. here are my responses/thoughts--

1)UN/Annan--I have not read about the UN bombing...that would be a fucking shame...or indicative of Israel's heavy handed approach.

from Yahoo-- "The foreign ministers and other senior officials from the 15 nations, as well as Annan and representatives from the European Union and the World Bank, agreed on a declaration expressing "deep concern" for the many civilian casualties in Lebanon, where government officials say hundreds have been killed." CONCERN?? wtf? this shit is nuts. in 2 weeks Israel has killed over 400 civilians and injured over 1500. how about they all take a one day break from war? i can't fucking believe the nonsense Bush/Rice are putting out..."a meaningful cease fire" that shit is so fucking offensive. civilians are dying motherfuckers...the only meaningful shit to do is call for a cease fire--i don't care what israel thinks...their method of killing/stopping terroists is unacceptable--Israel claims it has killed 130 Hezbollah fighters while Hezbollah says only 28, even so Israel has accomplished that by killing 4 times as many civillians, injurying thousands more and crippling a nation. wtf?? that's not the way to stop terroism. all this is doing is creating more terroist and future strikes against USA. our unconditional support for the slaughter of civilians is deeply disgusting and so fucking stupid.

2) on to brighter notes--Tour de France--go Landis! I was happy to see him win. even with a busted hip the mofo did his thing. read this article on his win and how hard he pushed to make it back from a terrible performance/stage before the end of the Tour.

3)Rudy Guiliani (sp?)--who the fuck is touting him around?? McCain is going to be the GOP candidate. he has the most broad appeal. Rudy's political career is over...to many crazy skeletons. I am worried that Dems will really put up Hillary. I use to like her until she backed the war on Iraq.

4)when we were remodeling we went to a big supply store for bathroom stuff and we saw the Big John toilet...capacity weight 800 lbs or more...that shit was huge--pretty much a bench that could fit 2-3 people. insane.
