All I have to say is that it's pretty sad (for my own psyche) that creating prints on toilet paper inspires me to write more than a poignant political cartoon.
I wish Toles had included a reference to Bush talking to God (or el Jesus Blanco) and Jerry Falwell - signifying how his quest to bring democracy to the "Axis of Evil" and the "evil-doers" doesn't sound much different than the frigging fatwas that have been declared against us by scores of religious leaders in the Middle East region.
I get the feeling somehow that "freedom" and democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan isn't going to seem much different than it did under Saddam or the Taliban. I could be wrong though.
Bush is scary when he talks about his relationship with God and his destiny to become president.
I think a nice cartoon would show an american with his pants dropped bent over and the NSA looking up his ass. The american can say, make sure you find them terroists...cause so many american's are willing to sacrifice democracy/freedom and privacy out of fear.
Big-D thanks for putting up this cartoon.
p.s. There is no record of any terroist entering the USA through Mexico but three terrois have entered through Canada and all the remaining known terroist flew to the US. Makes you wonder why politicians keep referring to securing the border as taking measures to prevent terroist from entering. nothing like confusing scared people.
