Most of you have already heard about this but I thought I'd follow up anyway. The United States government COMMISSIONED a Spanish-language version of the Anthem in 1919. The State Department also currently has four versions of it in Spanish on their website. Of course Bush has to toe the party line today but at his inaugural ceremony in 2001 he invited Jon Secada to - drum roll please - sing the anthem in Spanish.
