Take That Copper

How many bullets would the cops have fired if a black person had knocked this cop down? Let's not even imagine the carnage that would have ensued if this happened during the Guiliani era (what's 41 X 500?). What kind of charges would the perpetrators have been facing for assaulting cops and setting fire to a police car? Gotta love the NY media, not a single one labelled this a riot. I wonder if any of the protestors found some food along the way. I can't help but think of that Chappelle joke from Killin' Them Softly - I'm sorry officer, I ... didn't know I couldn't do that.

Firstly, there is profound difference between a riot and a melee. Or an unruly crowd. Secondly, the reports I read stated that witnesses said the Chief of Department Joseph Esposito used profanity while cops tried to tame the unruly crowd. Can you IMAGINE a cop using profanity while trying to tame an unruly crowd? The anti-semitism in this city is totally rampant.

I agree there are differences, but had this melee involved people of color, the papers and media wouldn't have hesitated to call it a riot. That's my point.

Personally I'm shocked the cops admitted to saying anything derogatory. Cops confessing shit, when did that happen?

Roughin up a 73 year old man? I had an officer of the law once tell my then 57 year old mother to "get back or get arrested, bitch". Who said chivalry is dead? I'm sure his wife and kids on long / staten island think he's such an honorable guy who fights crime in the BIG CITY. (you know, with all those blacks and foreigners)

Forget about Bonds on steroids, some cops look like they are on 'roids, coke, pcp or all of them. the internet has some crazy video clips of cops going nuts on protestors in the US and abroad.
